#1 - Ensure The Consistency Of Your Businesses NAP
NAP is the most essential part of your Google Business Profile. NAP stands for name, address, and phone number.
Making sure this information is consistent helps potential customers find your business and reach out to you.
To do this, head over to the “Info” tab and review all of the information to make sure it’s accurate and up to date.
#2 - Write A Complete Business Description
Google gives you 750 characters to describe your business.
Your business description should include information like
Your products or services.
Your unique selling point.
Your mission statement.
And/or Your business history.
Either way…
Whatever it is you choose to write about…
Or if you choose to use a combination of all of them.
Focus more on providing useful information and make sure that all of the content is optimized for specific keywords/search terms.
Additionally, Google may suspend your profile for errors in the business name or profile.
To ensure this doesn’t happen, enter the description into a spelling and grammar checker such as Grammarly before publishing it.
Also, here’s some things you want to avoid in your description.
Offensive content.
Links.
HTML code.
Sale announcements.
#3 - Upload Content Weekly!
I can’t stress this enough…
If you want to get rankings in the Map Pack, posting weekly content is ESSENTIAL.
You can post things such as your services, offers, what’s new updates, events, etc.
By doing so, you can directly communicate with your customers while also making sure that Google sees the content/keywords and looks at you as a trusted authority - which increases you’re rankings.
If you are unsure how to post on your Google Business Profile using the dashboard.
Select “Posts” in the menu.
Select the type of post you would like to create from the top of the page.
Select the elements you’d like to include (photos, videos, events, offers, or a button) along with the relevant information in the text body.
Select “Preview” if you want to view the post before publishing.
Select “Publish” to post it to your profile.
Before posting, make sure that the content is helpful to the audience that will be viewing it.
And if you have the option to include a CTA, do it! Having a clear and concise call-to-action can help you increase leads and boost overall traffic. Some examples of this include Book Now, Order Online, Sign Up or Call Now.
